I’ve been meaning to share about our two week trip to Europe last fall for a while now, and today is the first of three posts about our amazing trip! Our first stop on our trek around Europe was Ireland! This was our second time to that beautiful country and we loved every minute of it! We were there for a total of three days and our time was actually split between our two weeks. We arrived at 5:30am in Dublin completely exhausted but knew we needed to stay awake in order to adjust to the time change. Needless to say, this day was rough. We spent our first day just walking around Dublin and were excited to finally crash at 7pm in our hotel room and slept for 12 hours!! Our second day we woke up super refreshed and ready to explore!
We decided that we were going to go to the Cliffs of Moher, which is clear across the country! It was only 3 hours from Dublin so we got up, got in our rental car and hit the road! Driving for Matt took a little time but he got the hang of it and we had a blast driving through the country! We made a stop at the beautiful Bunratty castle for some photos and then continued on to the cliffs. When we arrived at the Cliffs of Moher it was raining so hard. We ran into the gift shop to wait out the rain and a few minutes later it stopped and was so clear. We stepped outside and there was the most beautiful rainbow! I had been waiting for this moment for so long and seeing the cliffs was beyond breathtaking!! I’m so excited to share some of our images!
After we traveled to London and Paris, we came back to Ireland and spent a day in Kilkenny! It’s the cutest little town and we drove around and toured their amazing castle.
During our trip I brought both my digital and film camera. I alternated shooting both but while we were in Ireland I primarily shot with film except for when we were in Kilkenny. I used my 35mm Canon camera with Kodak Porta 400 film all developed and scanned by Photovision.
Dublin!! We spent our whole day just walking around the city and eating some awesome food. We happen to like Irish food, specifically fish & chips, curry chicken and Guinness stew.
Kilkenny! This part of our trip was on the back half and was actually our last day in Europe. We drove about 1.5 hours to this adorable town and toured the stunning castle. The amount of history here is just amazing!
