THE

JOURNAL

Today’s Film Friday is about the two different types of film I used during The Lively Workshop back in October. I’ll be sharing much more from this styled shoot soon and I just can’t wait, they are some of my favorite images! I loved pushing myself to only shoot film and have truly fallen in love with it.

While we were photographing the details and the couple I swapped between my Canon 35mm film camera and the Maymia 645 that another attendee generously leant to me. It’s been so neat to go back through my scans and compare the two types of film and cameras used. In these four sets of images below, which are unedited, the left image was photographed with my Canon and 35mm Portra 400 film and the right image was with the Maymia 645 camera and 120mm Portra 400 film. There is an obvious difference in size and aside from that there are some other subtle differences in contrast and color. I’m pretty proud of my little Canon!

Which do you like better?
