Oh my goodness I don’t know even where to begin with these two!! Joel and Kelly are seriously one amazing couple and their relationship is such an example of God’s faithfulness! Kelly is originally from Oregon and her mom now lives in Hawaii and has for about 10 years now. Joel is from New York and they met freshman year at bible college in NY. They didn’t know each other well but sophomore year had a summer internship together, hit it off and really prayed about whether or not they should date because of the plans that they each had for the next season of their lives. Kelly went on to do the World Race, which is where you travel to 11 countries for 11 months for mission work, and Joel signed to do missions in China. They were intentional about staying in touch and Skyped once a month for a year. Once Kelly finished the World Race she ended up in Hawaii with her mom and they were apart for 442 days but waited for each other. They knew that they were supposed to be together and once they reunited they immediately began dating and got engaged in October of 2015!
They decided to have a small destination wedding of about 16 people on the island of Kauai and I can’t tell you how sweet and beautiful it was! Those photos are coming soon!!! When we first spoke with them on the phone we immediately hit it off and connected. We loved their story and were so excited for what God has in store for them. We were beyond honored when they asked us to capture their story and come to Hawaii for their sweet destination wedding! The night before their wedding we celebrated the last night of their engagement with a romantic engagement session on Ke’e beach and it was so wonderful to finally meet them in person and get to know them even better! Enjoy some favorites from their session and I promise their wedding images are coming soon!!
Thank you both again for having us there to celebrate with you!
