Back in May, Matt and I traveled to the gorgeous island of Kauai to capture the most amazing couple’s wedding. We were so honored to do this for them and get the chance to meet their family and celebrate with them. I shared about Joel and Kelly’s love story on their engagement session post, which we photographed the night before their wedding! You can view their sweet session here! They are a true testimony to God’s faithfulness and how he brought them together. They are going to amazing things for him!
Their wedding took place on the gorgeous Tunnels Beach on the north shore of Kauai at 9:30am and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Everyone was so relaxed and the weather was completely perfect. Their wedding was full of moving moments, sweet hugs and lots of love. It was our privilege to photograph their day!
Enjoy some favorites from their perfect day in Hawaii!
I wanted to share something so moving that Kelly wrote on Facebook about her great-grandmother’s pearls. I was to the point of tears when I read her sweet words and wanted to share them with you!
“To you this probably looks like a picture of pearls.
To me, this looks like Gods beautiful redemption.
For various reasons, I grew up without knowing my moms side of the family at all. I used to pray endless prayers to Jesus as a little girl that someday I could know them, and someday He would reunite us. I would pray that He would give me His supernatural love for them.
This past summer He answered my prayers! I got to meet my family that I never knew, and got to spend 2 months with my mom while she was battling cancer.
The night before my wedding, my great aunt (whom I never knew before) handed me a box. Inside were these beautiful pearls, which were my great-grandmothers on my mothers side. I literally got to wear Gods redemption around my neck on my wedding day.
The restoration, forgiveness, redemption, and love that has been restored to my family is nothing short of a miracle. I’m in awe of how God can take something so incredibly broken, and heal it completely.
I say all of this, because God needs to get the glory for this. I know there are so many broken families, but there is never a family too broken for Him to restore.
My heart is full, because He is so good.”
Kelly’s father passed when she was young and one of the most sweetest of details were the pendants that were wrapped around her bouquet. The photos of her father made it as if he were walking her down the aisle. It was so beautiful.
LOVE this group photo of everyone!
This is the sweetest! I love that they had everyone lay hands & pray during their ceremony!
