Happy Monday you all! I hope you’re enjoying the spring weather if you have it! We currently are in 50 degree weather so my fireplace was on this morning! Ha!
It’s been a little quite over here for a few weeks and I wanted to share with you what’s been going on with us! January through March is usually called “the off season” for most photographers. This time of year may appear to be a bad thing as we are typically not photographing a lot of weddings, but rather the opposite is true. It’s the time of year that I most look forward to during the sometimes overwhelming busy months. This is a time for me to relax, breathe, and recuperate before it picks back up again in April. During this “off season” I’ve been working on some projects that I didn’t really have time for during the busier months.
The first thing I wanted to share is our brand NEW client magazine!! This magazine is 80 pages of detailed information to help our couples plan for their big day! We talk about everything from the engagement session, bridal session, first look, rain on the wedding day, to creating the timeline, preferred vendors, and more! We made sure to include just about everything we wanted our brides and grooms to know about their photos and what can help their day run smoothly! I purchased the template from the amazing Katelyn James in her shop!
Another thing that I’ve been working on during this off season is implementing a client management software called 17hats. If you are a photographer or in need of a management software I definitely recommend 17hats! Within this program I can send contracts, invoices, create to-do lists, auto generate emails, etc. It definitely takes some time to set it up and create a workflow but once it is, it definitely helps me create a great experience for out clients!
I also had the privilege to get together with my friend Samie of Something Perfect Weddings and create a wedding inspiration shoot at Bechtler Museum in Uptown that I am beyond excited about. We spent months coming up with ideas and contacting vendors to contribute to the shoot. Here’s a little sneak peek of our model Stephanie who happens to be a friend and past client! I can’t wait to share more!
During this time off I’ve been able to work on so much and really spend time reconnoitering with Matt, friends and family along with spending more time praying and in God’s word! I know that during the busy season I have a tendency to make work a focus and let other things slip, but this year I am vowing to make a change and take back my life!
Stay tuned for all of the exciting things that are to come!!
