Back in April we traveled back to Ireland for the third time and this time was to photograph our dear friends, Michael and Meagan’s wedding! Matt was actually a groomsman so I photographed the ceremony, their portraits and the reception myself. It was such a fantastic trip, but I’ll share more about their wedding when I blog it ;). I’m sharing today some photos from our travels in Ireland and England. After the wedding, Matt and I traveled to Oxford to explore that city along with Stratford-Upon-Avon where Shakespeare lived and Leed’s Castle. Both of us absolutely adore Irish and English culture and could definitely see ourselves living in England one day. I’ll walk you through our trip throughout the post so if you’re interested in visiting, hopefully I can help you decide where you want to go!
Cliffs of Moher is one of my favorite locations! It’s just so majestic!
Meagan decided to gather all the women who traveled to Ireland with her for her wedding and spend the day at the Burren Perfumery. It’s such a cool place! They make all of their own lotions & perfumes and have a garden in the back! After we shopped, we had lunch and tea in their little cafe.
For dinner one evening we traveled over to Galway which is such a cute little fishing village! I honestly didn’t take a lot of photos this trip but I had to stop and take one of this rainbow!
Bunratty Castle was such a cool experience. It’s a 15th century castle in County Claire and when we toured the inside we were immediately transported to the Middle Ages. We also toured the grounds and explored the little town where the castle sits. HIGHLY recommend this castle!
Matt and I stayed in Oxford at the Oxford Spires hotel, and really enjoyed it there! Our first day in England we actually went to Stratford Upon Avon where Shakespeare lived and it was such a cute town! I was obsessed with the black and white buildings! We also took a little Ferris Wheel ride and were able to see all of Stratford!
This is where Shakespeare taught acting!
The Royal Shakespeare theater.
This is where Shakespeare is buried.
This house is where his wife, Anne Hathaway lived.
On our second day we wondered through Oxford, which was so much bigger than I expected. We started with a picnic cruise along the River Thames and then walked throughout the city. I didn’t realize how spread out Oxford University is!
This is the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral that’s located in Oxford. Fun fact, they filmed some scenes from Harry Potter here!
Some of the different colleges of Oxford University!
Our last day was spent touring Leed’s Castle!
The hall on the left they used often in Harry Potter and the staircase on the right is used in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone when they are welcomed to Hogwarts!
