I haven’t done a post in a while with some tips for future brides, so I thought today would be a good day to start that back up again!! I wanted to talk about bridal details and what to have together when your photographer arrives! The little details may seem trivial to photograph, but I think making sure your photographer takes some time to document these items is so important.
These are the items that you carefully selected to wear on the day you say “I do” to your best friend. The items that reflect your style and who you are right now. When you look back on your images 40 years from now you can see and relieve your day to it’s fullest. There is always an extra 30 minutes built into the timeline to photograph all of the bridal details. But, I do also make sure to still capture candids as well! Gotta multi-task!
The thing I always suggest to our brides is to gather all of their little details the week of the wedding and package them up in a little bag. That way, when I arrive they don’t have to step away to search for everything. The details I suggest she put in the bag are the rings, two full suites of the invitation, shoes, all jewelry, perfume and any other little details that she would like for me to photograph. Usually, I’ll bring with me some items to style with those details such as fabric, ring boxes and ribbon. Then I just take about 30 minutes to style and photograph those little details!
Another thing I suggest to the grooms, is to set aside any of their details such as shoes, cuff links, watches and ties so that Matt can take a couple of minutes to photograph those as well! Those details always look great in the album!!
I hope this post helps you get ready for your special day!!
